The radio downlink used on MiHAB2 was quite different to that used on NOVA1. The system used the same 10mW 434MHz transmitter module - but the radio modem used was completly bespoke 300 bps system using a PIC16F628 micro.

The system was tested over a path distance of 28Km. During the fight a 20db attenuator was placed in line with the antenna - this simulated a path distance of 280Km and data was received with low loss.
