  • Potential Long duration launch 10/2/11 - 11/2/11
    • 434Mhz
    • SPoT

Brightwalton, Berkshire

This is a photographic flight carrying a Canon camera for stills and Kodak camcorder for HD video. The main payload is:

  • Cloud 3 - 10am on Saturday 4th February 2012 (weather permitting of course)
    • Frequency: 434.650 MHz
    • Format: RTTY, 50 baud, 425Hz shift, 7 bits, no parity, 2 stop bits, ID will be “CLOUD”
    • Will also have a mobile phone connected to the processor to send texts when descending.

There will also be a secondary payload to test the range of rtty on an rfm22b radio module. It would really help if some trackers can switch between the two and let me know how they compare. The details of this payload are:

  • Frequency: 434.200 MHz
  • Format: RTTY, 50 baud, 470Hz shift, 7 bits, no parity, 2 stop bits, ID will be “BUZZ”

I'm hoping that we will learn how well the rfm22b performs at long range and how much it drifts as the temperature falls.

Balloon is a 1000g Hwoyee, and total weight of both payloads including chute/line will be around 900g. Burst height should be somewhere between 32 and 35km depending on the phase of the moon in China when the balloon was made.

Ombersley, Worcester

  • HABE2 - ~11am on Saturday 4th February 2012 - Weather permitting and pending completion of payload
    • Frequency: 434.075 MHz
    • Format: RTTY, 50 baud, 600Hz shift, 8 bits, no parity, 1.5 stop bits, select “HABE2” in fldigi.
    • There will also be an uplink using easyradios - though I'm not expecting any good range.
    • Please check http://ukhas.org.uk/projects:habe:launchstatus for the most up to date information regarding the launch status
