Firefly (FHALP-2) Found!
Firefly (FHALP-2) was launched from EARS, Cambridgeshire on 10/02/08 and was tracked by radio (Morse on 434mhz) and also visually to apogee. At apogee contact was lost and despite search in a variety of forecast landing sites the payload was not found.
Update 28/02/08 – Firefly (FHALP-2) was found intact in a field in Cambridgeshire by a member of the public who contacted us. Ed Moore retrieved the payload and has extracted the photos from the camera payload.

Nova 3 Found
On Sunday 7th January 2007 UKHAS were meant to launch a train of payloads however due to electronics failure no module was in a position to launch. Instead we attached a PIC controlled cutdown on a timer, the old Peg III radio beacon, a radar reflector and parachute to a 350g balloon and called it Nova 3.
On Tuesday 23 January 2007 Nova 3 was found in Germany near to the Danish Border at: 54.7442 N, 8.4665 E a distance of 620km from the launch site.
The payload has been arranged to be sent back so more information when it arrives home.

High Altitude Balloon Flickr Group
We have created a high altitude balloon Flickr group for any high altitude related pictures! It would be great to see everyone’s construction and flight photos up on there.
There are already pictures of Ben’s cutdown device, Nova 1 PCB designs and a variety of pictures from the Pegasus Project including some unpublished Pegasus II launch photos.
